COMPANY EXPERIENCE

Since 1964 our experience includes designing and building fire protection,
piping and HVAC systems in hospitals, laboratories and institutional
buildings 
as well as on offshore platforms, refinery, natural gas
compression,co-generation, semiconductor fabrication and petrochemical
plant projects.

Recent experience (past 15 years) in design of fire alarm and fire protection systems;
medical gas and HVAC systems in hospitals,laboratories and institutional buildings
and participated on multiple code writing committees in plumbing, purity piping, fire
protection, chemical plant - process safety and medical gas system design and 
installation. Voice Intelligibility studies per NFPA 72.

ASHRAE, ASME, ASPE, API, ADA, ABS, ASSE, AWS, BOCA, DNV, 

IMC, IAPMO, NFPA, NSPE, SFPE, TXPE

Previous experience (25 years) included managing the engineering design of two major multi-platform offshore production & processing complexes, each costing $1.5 - $2 billion; Providing engineering design, cost estimates and construction management for a $400 million per year capital budget (5 year project); Conceptual design of jack-up and semi-submersible drilling rigs, and detailed design, layout, specifications, fire protection, equipment selection and construction management of  jack-up drilling rigs (3 series, 10 rigs); Headed design team that built 300,000-sq. ft. numerically controlled machining facility for fabricating  nuclear steam supply components and 130,000-sq. ft. nuclear fuel processing area.

Van Norman, LLC's staff includes Master Plumbers, CAD Designers, Professional Engineers, Fire Protection Engineers and  Technicians (NICET - sprinkler and alarm); Engineers in Training (EIT); and Telecommunications technicians; Voice Intelligibility Studies as required by NFPA 72.
